Many schools already have 3D printers, and use them for design projects.
This is wonderful, but it’s only a very narrow use of a great resource.
3D printers can be wonderful objects of learning! They provide practical avenues for learning more about engineering, mathematics, chemistry, programming, and more.
In this workshop, we explore these aspects, using 3D printers on-site.
We also discuss the importance of choosing a 3D printer carefully so it can be maintained in-house, and 3D printing of school resources.
