Students always want to learn how to hack, but how can we provide an engaging environment where we shift this focus to the protection of computer networks? Kew High School is trialling a blue team environment. Students work against the clock to secure a network before it is taken down by a suite of automated hacks.
Students earn points by applying the Essential Eight. The Essential Eight is a list of key mitigations published by the Australian Signals Directorate. Building the blue team environment was a great way to repurpose dated desktops and address networking and patching principles.
Come along to hear about our journey so far and to share your ideas about how we can foster a positive security culture. We will also provide some tips on how to construct your own blue team environment.
