The Data and Information strand of the Digital Technologies curriculum at Levels F-6 seeks to inform students about the world of data. Students learn about data, patterns, numbers, binary and data. They learn to collect, store and validate data, visualise data and how to plan, create, manage and communicate ideas.
This session will introduce the thinking behind the Data Information strand of the Digital Technologies curriculum. It will provide suggested approaches to teaching and example student activities. Participants will unpack some of the Content Descriptions within this strand and discover engaging activities to ensure students understand the key concepts across the continuum. This session is suitable for all F – 6 teachers.
