In this workshop, Jacki and Karen will demonstrate the process they undertook to ‘unpick’ the Victorian Curriculum. ‘Unpicking’ involved writing three progression markers for each level, tagged as Base, Medium or High. Markers state explicitly and in student friendly language what a student needs to demonstrate in order to show evidence of working at a specific level. These markers are included on the differentiated rubrics which accompany every assessment task, and assist students to identify precisely what they need to do to progress their learning further along the continuum. Attendees will have the opportunity to create a differentiated task and rubric in this workshop. All tasks created will be shared enabling everyone to walk away at the end of the session with a bank of resources to use with their classes. This workshop is designed for those who are looking for direction in working with the VC and who favour a hands-on approach.
