Deanne Joosten has been teaching with great passion and enthusiasm for 14 years. Deanne is a Leading
Teacher – eLearning and ICT at Phoenix P-12 Community College and teaches Drama and IT. She has always
been interested in technology and constantly works to find innovative ways to use ICT to create an exciting learning environment for her students. Deanne regularly presents at conferences on a variety of topics such as; Innovative ways to use technology, Microsoft technologies in Education, The Technology Toolbox Series and Teaching with technology in the Drama classroom.
Deanne is currently recognised as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIE) and is also a Microsoft
Certified Educator. As a MIE Deanne enjoys working as part of a global network of teachers who use
technology in innovative and engaging ways in their classroom. Deanne was selected as one of four MIE’s
to represent Australia at the recent E2 – Educator Exchange conference in Budapest in 2016. This event
brings together innovative educators from around the world to collaborate, create, and share their
experiences on how to integrate technology and pedagogy to advance learning, achieve student outcomes,
and transform education.
As a lifelong learner and thought leader, Deanne is very excited about the future of education as she
continues to explore the many exciting ways technology can heighten a student’s experience in the
classroom and empower them to be successful learners.
