Liana Gooch (Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School) and Phil Carew (Head of eLearning) work at Toorak College. They are both interested in supporting the development of STEM Skills and knowledge in girls’ education. Liana and Phil want to find new and innovative technology tools that will best engage students and teachers alike. They recently led a team of staff to develop a Makerspace – an exciting space where all members of the learning community can engage in technologies, creativity and innovative practices that relate to real world challenges and future thinking. In February 2016 they presented at the Global Forum on Girls’ Education in New York. They’re also interested in developing entrepreneurial skills, the application of digital tools and opportunities to interface with industry to best prepare girls from this world of work.
